Mieke de Die
Mieke de Die (1961) has been a lawyer since 2000. Her expertise spans the full breadth of law in healthcare: from disciplinary law and supervision to contracts and investigations into performance issues and transgressive behaviour.
Healthcare and law have been the running theme throughout her career. She gained hands-on experience in hospitals and mental healthcare. Her time at the Council for Public Health and the Health Care Inspectorate gave her a thorough understanding of how the healthcare system functions. In her legal practice, she benefits from this experience: she is uniquely placed to connect the practice of healthcare with the theory of law.
Mieke considers a solution to be good only if it is not just legally sound, but also fits the specific situation. In her approach, she always takes the desired outcome as the starting point and works towards achieving it. Of course, this always starts with a thorough legal analysis, and if the prospects of a case turn out to be different from what was hoped, you will receive an honest assessment.
Mieke is a member of the Vereniging voor Gezondheidsrecht and Disciplina (the Dutch Association of Disciplinary Law Lawyers) and has held various additional roles. She regularly serves as a lecturer in her field of expertise or as a speaker at symposia or training days.
