Melita van der Mersch


Melita van der Mersch (1975) developed her enthusiasm for health law while still studying law in Leiden. Since 2000, she has practised as a lawyer with a specialised health law practice. Before moving to Velink & de Die, she was a partner at Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn, where she was responsible for the healthcare practice. Melita has broad health law experience, including in the areas of disciplinary law, supervision and enforcement, social domain and the insurance system.

Melita has a particular interest in pharmaceutical law. She is happy to assist you with legal issues relating to the trading, reimbursement, financing and dispensing of medicines and medical devices.

Melita is pragmatic. She quickly identifies the interests at stake and where there is room for finding a solution. She always looks beyond the purely legal aspects.

Melita publishes regularly and is a sought-after speaker and lecturer. She is a lecturer on the Grotius postgraduate specialisation programme in health law. Melita is a board member of the Vereniging voor Gezondheidsrecht. She is also an editor of the Tijdschrift voor Gezondheidsrecht and the NTvG. She is a co-founder, former board member and member of the Vereniging Farma en Recht.
