Caren Velink


Caren Velink (1973) graduated in 1999 and has focused on health law from the very start. She began her career in the healthcare section at Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn and started her own practice in 2008, first as an independent interim legal professional in the healthcare sector and from 2011 as a lawyer at Velink & De Die advocaten.

Caren advises and litigates for healthcare professionals across all sectors of healthcare. She has extensive experience in medical disciplinary law and contract law, including disputes with health insurers and cooperation issues. She is also well versed in the field of regulation and supervision in healthcare. Caren is also regularly asked to serve on investigative committees for performance issues within medical specialist care.

Caren is a committed lawyer who works thoroughly and has a passion for her profession. She does what she loves most and what she excels at: analysing and understanding cases, solving legal puzzles and ultimately reaching a good solution.

Caren is a regular speaker at symposia and conferences. She is an editor of GZR updates and a member of the Vereniging voor Gezondheidsrecht. Caren is also chair of the objections advisory committee of the Board for the Restructuring of Healthcare Institutions and chair of the Disciplinary Board of the NVRG. She is a member of the supervisory board of Stichting Nieuw Unicum, an institution for people with multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injury.
